Carol Wolfe-Ralph, pianist, organist and choir director, has over twenty years church experience, working with children, collegiates and adults. She has directed both vocal and handbell choirs. She holds a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree in Piano Performance from the University of Maryland. Since her arrival in February of 2007, Carol is beginning to make plans which will include expanding the adult choir, reviving the childrens’ choir, and perhaps an annual gala concert, which will involve all willing members of the parish.
In addition to her duties at Holy Family, Carol serves as President of Maryland State Music Teachers Association. She also runs the Strathmore Mansion Recital Series for the Friday Morning Music Club. She is a Treasurer for Mu Phi Epsilon Music Fraternity, and Adjunct Professor for both Goucher College and the Washington Bible College. In addition, she teaches approximately thirty private piano students out of her home. For the past twenty-five summers, Carol has been involved in musical theatre at Glen Echo. She has directed countless shows, both as stage director and musical director. Carol performs several times a year (on piano) in various venues. She is, however, looking eagerly to the day when Holy Family will get a real live organ!
Her love of music is her hobby, but she does enjoy going to the gym to relieve the stress! She lives in Bowie (since 1987), with her husband, John, three children, Andrea (who helps her with the children’s choir), Bobby and Caroline, and her 3 cats, and 80-lb. Labrador, Lily.
She is happy to be at Holy Family . . . finally home! She wants to eventually meet all of its members!
